Marilyn Minter

New Paintings and Photographs

September 6 through October 11, 2003

Fredericks Freiser Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of new paintings and photographs by Marilyn Minter. The artist’s most recent solo shows have been at Thaddeus Ropac Gallery, Paris and Andrehn-Schiptjenko Gallery, Stockholm. Last year, she was included in Shimmering Substance at the Arnolfini, Bristol (traveled) and is currently in Crosscurrents at Century’s End: Selections From The Neuberger Berman Art Collection at the Henry Art Gallery, Seattle. This is her first solo exhibition in New York since 2000.

Marilyn Minter’s enamel on metal paintings and photographs mine the pathology of artifice and glamour. The artist switches back and forth between two mediums to investigate similar iconography.

Fredericks Freiser Gallery is located at 504 West 22nd Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11am to 6pm. For further information and/or photographs please contact the gallery by telephone at (212) 633-6555, fax at (212) 367-9502, or email fredreicksfreiser@nyc.rr.com.
